“Nature is the best teacher” is a profound saying that inspired me to achieve great success and develop myself as an individual. Nature as a whole has played a pivotal and important role in my life. The presence of the football world, the soccer hype around the country, visiting stadiums meant that soccer would be my sport. On the other hand; the presence of poor children, street kids, child labour and homeless families around me made me thank God for the blessings he has bestowed upon me. It made me develop a sense of responsibility towards the society and the country I live in as a whole. The existence of individuals such as Holy Prophet Mohammed and his grandson Imam Hussein, Imam Khomeini, Nelson Mandela, Mwalimu Nyerere and Mahatma Gandhi who fought for freedom, resistance and peace by individual efforts meant that success is attainable through perseverance and hard work. With that in mind; I set my targets and made it mandatory to serve the community in the best possible way and at the same time make sure I was successful in sports as my father and I shared the same passion.

I always had a very active lifestyle, I am an avid sport fan; more so with football. I am very passionate about football as I have attended many local games at the stadiums in Dar and England. My football career kick started in the year 1998 when I starred for Challengers Fc in a local Ramadhan Tournament (Community Tournament) whereby we emerged as champions. From then on; I trained under various coaches who happened to be Ex- players of the national soccer team; Mohammed Mwameja, Peter and Suleman Mathew.

From then on, I gave my full concentration on my soccer career and at the same time indulged in community activities projects.
My interest in soccer kept increasing; and I decided it was time I helped the youth of our community in what I am most passionate about; through football. Hence, I set up a U-15 team (Jr. Predators) bearing the expenses (i.e coach fees, jerseys, and participation fees) myself and with the help of a couple of friends. The team eventually became successful and won 3 back to back titles in the community tournaments.

During my 2 years time as a coach with my community team; I had only lost one game; which happened to be in Mombasa where we went to participate in a mini friendly tournament. Simultaneously; I also set up a U-13 soccer team which eventually won the AK Open Tournament in 2009 without losing a single game. This was the start of a successful youth system at Union Sports Club. This project has been a success till today, with professional coaches training the kids and now Union Sports Club is one of the best youth systems in the Khoja Shia Ithnaasheri Jamaat.

My soccer career has been a mixed affair. I play for local team Predators Fc who have been attracting headlines whenever they participate in the tournaments. I have been the captain of the team since 2009, and led the team to 2 finals and 2 semi finals. We are yet to win a trophy, hopefully this year Inshaallah.
In the year 2011, I was chosen as the captain of the Union B soccer team for the Urafiki Sports Festival that was held in April in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I led my team to the semi finals of the tournament which we eventually lost to Union A. This was the first time ever for Union B to make it to the semi finals of a Supreme Council Tournament. A couple of months later I captained my local soccer team Predators Fc to the Semi finals of the Ramadhan 2011 festival held in Aug 2011 in Dar es Salaam. We lost the semi finals in a dramatic penalty shoot out.

As of now; I play in the SJ League (Stanmore Jafferys) in London for Championship Champions Ikhwan Fc (Now known as Pyaayo) who signed me in the summer transfer season.
I thank the Almighty Allah (swt) for granting me the strength and effort to serve the community at large and enjoy a great career in soccer. My appreciation goes to my loving family; especially my Grandparents who always supported me throughout my soccer interested career.
